Greymouth Attractions
The township of Greymouth on New
Zealand's West Coast is a peaceful place - originally
forged by early Maori in search of precious greenstone
during the gold rush in the late 1860s.
It is the largest town on the West
Coast of the South Island, boasting spectacular
scenery and plenty of local attractions for all
ages and abilities, including History House, the
art gallery and many scenic walks.
The West Coast of the Southern
Alps is 600 kilometres long and boasts five of New
Zealand’s fourteen national parks - Kahurangi,
Paparoa, Arthur’s Pass, Westland and Mt Aspiring.
New Zealand’s highest mountains,
glaciers, rainforests, rivers and remote beaches
make the West Coast a unique paradise - which caters
for all adventure seekers.
